sti testing man and woman

We offer free STI testing and treatment through a urine-based test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. When a positive test result returns, we offer treatment with our physician-recommended antibiotics.

Chlamydia and gonorrhea are Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), meaning they are transmitted by having oral, anal, or vaginal sex with a person who already has the disease.

Both chlamydia and gonorrhea are highly contagious, sexually transmitted bacterial infections that affect both women and men. Chlamydia is caused by the bacteria chlamydia trachomatis. Gonorrhea, also called “the clap” or “the drip”, is caused by the bacteria, Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Chlamydia and gonorrhea bacteria can grow and cause infections in the vagina, cervix, uterus, or fallopian tubes in women, and in the urethra in men. It can also infect the anus, mouth, throat and the lining of the eyelids.

Left untreated, these STDs can cause irreversible damage to your reproductive system. This in turn can lead to a high risk of pregnancy, miscarriage, infertility, sterility or other long-term complications. Both STIs can pass onto newborns during childbirth if the mother is infected and remains untreated.

Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Symptoms

  • Discharge
  • Burning sensation while urinating
  • Painful, burning sensations in infected area
  • Bleeding between periods
  • Abdominal pain
  • Swelling or pain in either or both testicles
  • Pain during sex

Both can infect your eyes causing discharge, conjunctivitis (itchy, red eyes, also known as pinkeye), or sensitivity to light.

Both can also spread or infect the anus causing:

  • Discharge
  • Bleeding
  • Rectal pain
Most people who have chlamydia and gonorrhea don’t know it.

75% of women and 50% of men with chlamydia exhibit no symptoms. Estimates also show that the majority of men and women with gonorrhea show no symptoms.

Even if you don’t think you have an STI, it’s important to get periodic STI testing if you are engaged in sexual activity. Getting regular STI screenings makes you a healthier and more responsible partner.

When you get STI testing at our center, you will receive your results promptly and confidentially. We will also provide doctor-recommended antibiotics or other treatments, or refer you to a medical professional if necessary.
